The art of war is..
Chapter one explains the general principles of Chinese battle.
It is build upon five principles. Moral law, heaven, earth, commander and the method and discipline.
Moral law relates to the obedience of the soldiers to the country
Heaven relates to season, night and day, cold and warmth
Earth relates to distances, paths, danger, chances of life and death
Commander relates to the virtues of wisdom, sincerity, benevolence, courage and strictness
Method and discipline relate to the organisation of the army and it's ability to keep he routes for supplies open
It is calculated war where circumstances of your own army and those of the enemy and allies are weighed in.
Chapter two describe the actual war.
The length of the battle. Too long and resources run low and men's moral can waver.
Dull weapons
Resource. Bring them from home and take from the enemy.
