Three Reasons Why Emotional Intelligence Is Necessary In The Work Place

Emotional Intelligence is the ability to recognize and handle both my own and others emotions.

Let's look at two examples.

A sales person finds ut that they have not met the companies targets for the year, which means no chridtmas and even the possibility of bring told there is no.job int he coming year.

An emotionally intelligent person will recognise their emotions of regret, anxiety, fear, anger, etc. And be able to process these in a way where no one at work or at home gets hurt.

An emotionally u intelligent person will be oblivious to their empties of fear, anxoety, regret, anger, etc. And so will not be abke to process these emotions. Normally the end result is that this person will lash out at those around them, both in the work place and at home.

Let's look at another example.

I work in an office of five peole. The person who sits opposite me experinceds a traumatic incident on the way from the ofcie to see a client. They are mugged for their wallet and phone, leaving then traumatized. Following the incident, thus person returns to work and after washing off the tears in the bathroom, goes to sit down.

An emotionally intelligent person will notice throguh body labgahge that somethung has happened. They will.pick up on the facial and body language expressions of someone who ha sheen.mugged. the confused and blank look on their face. This person will quietly walk over to their colleagues desk and apporpoafley talk with them about the incident, listening as they go on.

An emotionally unintelligent person will either not even notice this return of their mugged friend, or be brash and unsympathetic about it, telling them things like, "just love on." Or "it happens to me."

In conlsuokm,

Someone with high emotional intelligence is more likely to ads value to a comoany because they are able to apororately manager bith theirs and others emotions.

The first reason is because an emotionally intelligent person handles their own emotional appropriately and so can work on a task perfectly without

The second reason is because an emotionally intelligent person is able to help those around them handle their own. This intern creates a safe space not he office which enables staff to work more effectively.

The third reason is because an emotionally intelligent person can become a safe place for customer.s

It therefore goes eithout saying that it is important that all peole involed with a nuosness develop their own emotional intelligence. A company can be successful for a time being without the usage of emotional intelligence, but it certainly won't be healthy, for long that is.
